NAIROBI, Kenya, November 2, 2026 – Following a hard-fought and frustrating 2–0 defeat to Kibera Soccer Women’s Team, Kayole Starlets head coach George Kimani has remained defiant, pointing to missed opportunities in the final third as the decisive factor in a match his side otherwise controlled in patches. Despite creating a flurry of goal-scoring chances and registering more shots on target than their opponents, Kayole’s inability to capitalize in front of goal ultimately proved costly. The defeat leaves Kayole Starlets sitting 7th on the FKF Women’s Premier League standings. Reflecting on the encounter, Kimani admitted that while the performance showed plenty of promise, finishing remains an urgent priority for his technical bench. “The game was good, I think we created far more chances than them. We also had more shots on target than them, but our main weakness was in the finishing. It is an area we need to work on, and I can assure everyone that we will put a lot of effort into improving it,” Kimani noted. With the disappointment of the 2–0 scoreline now in the rearview mirror, the tactician emphasized that dwelling on the setback is not an option as the competitive 2026/2027 season intensifies. Our main focus now is on the next game. The result is behind us. It was not the outcome we wanted, but we gave everything we could. I believe we deserved a positive result, but unfortunately, things did not go our way, and we have to accept that,” he affirmed. Looking forward, Kayole’s camp is channeling all its energy into rectifying their tactical bluntness in training before their next fixture. “We now shift our attention to the next match, where I can assure everyone that we will work hard and aim to deliver a much better result,” the gaffer said. While Kayole Starlets look to bounce back from their 7th-place standing, the victory serves as a massive boost for Kibera Soccer Women. With the three points secured, Kibera surges to 15 points, locking them level with defending champions Kenya Police Bullets, who currently occupy second place with their fellow law enforcers, Ulinzi Starlets being at the summit as the battle at the upper echelons of the KWPL table heats up.
