Vice President of the General Union of Egyptians Abroad in the United States (GUEA-USA) Essam Eddin Bassiouni said on Monday, October 26, 2026, that the outcomes of the Egypt Forum 2026 and the initiatives proposed during the event represent an opportunity to deepen ties between Egyptians living abroad and their homeland, translate their demands and proposals into practical steps, facilitate their lives, and strengthen their participation in development efforts. In an exclusive interview with Nile News TV, the union’s Vice President noted that issues concerning Egyptians abroad received considerable attention during the five-day forum. Participants’ demands and proposals were heard and documented, helping shape a number of outcomes and recommendations aimed at improving the services provided to them and strengthening their ties with Egypt. Bassiouni explained that the forum’s sessions addressed a number of important issues affecting Egyptians abroad and resulted in decisions concerning consular and housing initiatives, including the “Beit Al-Watan” and “Housing for All Egyptians” programs, alongside other issues that will undergo further study and discussion in the coming period. He said the proposed initiatives include the “Speak Arabic” initiative, which seeks to preserve the Arabic language and national identity among the children of Egyptians living abroad, particularly those residing in European countries. Other initiatives include programs related to “Your Insurance in Egypt.” Bassiouni stressed the importance of continuing to develop initiatives and services for Egyptians abroad in ways that respond to their needs, strengthen their ties with their homeland, and create greater opportunities for their participation in development efforts.
