Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued by the South African Weather Service for several parts of the country for this Tuesday, with a level 4 warning in place over Mpumalanga and northern KwaZulu-Natal. Level 2 warnings have been issued for parts of Limpopo, Gauteng, the Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal. Residents are urged to take precautions, as the storms could bring damaging winds, hail, and flash flooding. SABC Meteorologist Azwi Tuwani says, “For today, we do have a warning of severe thunderstorms. We have level four that is over the interior of Mpumalanga and the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal. Level two is in the southern parts of Limpopo, the whole of Gauteng, the North-Eastern corner of the Free State, and the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal. We advise our people to have their umbrellas close by and raincoats, but in terms of thunder, they need to make sure that they are in a safe space because being outside or using an umbrella or a raincoat is not advised during a thunderstorm. And since we are expecting them to be severe, people must remember that a tornado, hailstorms, strong winds, and flash flooding are some of those possibilities.” SA Weather Report | 03 November 2026:
