Mashatile calls on electorate to vote in numbers on election day

African National Congress (ANC) Deputy President Paul Mashatile has urged the electorate to head to the polls in their numbers and vote on election day. Mashatile made the plea whilst on the campaign trail in the greater Johannesburg region earlier on Wednesday afternoon. He interacted with residents of Alexandra, Inkanyenzi, Ward 75 and Ward 109 in Marlboro on service delivery issues. The campaign comes a week before the local government elections. “S o we are reminding the community to go and vote for the A frican N ational C ongress. N ow, the biggest challenge we all know is that many people will say they love the ANC , but on the day of voting, they are sleeping. W e are not going to vote. W e can’t win when we are sleeping at home. S o we urge all of you: please wake up and go and vote .” The ANC lives. The ANC leads. #VoteANC2026 #VoteANC #LGE2026 #LetsBuildBetterCommunities https://t.co/D3ciw5P91R — Paul Mashatile (@PMashatile) October 28, 2026
