Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane says he notes the findings against the former Vice – Chancellor of the University of Fort Hare , Sakhela Buhlungu by the University’s Council. Buhlungu was found guilty of gross misconduct by employing two executive members without following proper university procedures. Another finding was that he brought the institution into disrepute following remarks he made when engaging with the media. The Council recommended that he be dismissed and the recommendation was actioned this week. Mabuyane was de-registered from his Master’s Degree studies at the u niversity during Buhlungu’s tenure. The High Court in KuGompo recommended that he be reinstated. Mabuyane had this to say . “As I’ve said earlier on that, all what he was doing when he went into media escapade, this or that, it was just a diversion. We knew that what is the real problem in the university, what was happening? Because the university was bad led, was badly managed. And he had to find the scapegoats in order to justify wrong things that he was doing. And I really don’t want to venture much on that. And it’s an internal process of the of Fort Hare is a council decision, well, all other issues for my side, remain on what court has decided on and I’m working on that with the university” RELATED VIDEO: Mabuyane awaits Fort Hare court judgment
