Accused number three in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Mthobisi Mncube says the description of the alleged intruder who shot and killed Meyiwa does not match his complexion. Mncube told the High Court in Pretoria during cross examination by state prosecutor, Dr Ronnie Sibanda that witnesses described the intruder as not light or dark in complexion, with dreadlocks reaching the neck. He says this contradicts the state’s description of the person who killed Meyiwa as the one light in complexion. He and four others are on trial for the murder of Meyiwa in October 2014. Mncube says he has always been light in complexion. “From these documents as Zandi was testifying from the 18th going to the other days, she mentioned that the dreadlocks were up to the neck, she even mentioned that the person was dark and even shiny in complexion that is where we are having a disagreement. They are not referring to someone with long dreadlocks up to the back.” “They are not making reference to a person whose light in complexion that is where I am saying that particular portion now belongs to the police as well as the state. It’s not the evidence of the people that were in the house.” VIDEO |Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial | 29 October 2026 -Reporting by Lerato Makola
