The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, is expected to highlight the potential of digital networks and platforms to expand women’s access to markets at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Women’s Forum in Antigua and Barbuda. The Minister is scheduled to speak at a session themed “Leveraging Networks and Digital Platforms to Scale and Access New Markets”, as part of Ghana’s participation in the Commonwealth engagement. The session is expected to examine how digital connectivity and networking opportunities can help women reach wider markets and improve their participation in economic activities. Dr Lartey is attending the forum in St. John’s with a Ghanaian delegation. The gathering brings together representatives from Commonwealth governments, civil society groups, development organisations and youth networks ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Her programme also includes engagements on strengthening the health-sector response to gender-based violence and participation in the Commonwealth Disability Forum. The disability-focused gathering will examine how countries can improve access to education, employment, political representation and other opportunities for persons with disabilities.
