Joy FM has introduced a new event, Colours of Christmas, as part of its four-event line-up for the 2026 festive season. The event will take place on Eve of Christmas: Thursday, 24th December 2026, at Labadi Beach. It will feature Christmas-themed partying and entertainment, with patrons encouraged to wear clothes in different colours, adding a colourful twist to the traditional Christmas Eve celebration. This programme is expected to be the official Christmas party for the year, as it promised the best experiences curated to serve the states of music lovers and revelers in general. Colours of Christmas is one of four events unveiled by the station for this year’s Christmas and New Year season. Joy FM’s annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will open the festivities on Sunday, 13th December, at 3pm at the Labadi Beach Hotel’s Omanye Hall. The programme traditionally combines the biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ with scripture readings, Christmas carols, gospel music and other entertainment. It has become a major fixture on Joy FM’s festive calendar, attracting listeners, families and personalities from different sectors of society. On Saturday, 26 December, the annual Family Party in the Park will take place at the Aburi Botanical Gardens, beginning at 9am. The event, which has become a popular Boxing Day attraction, brings families and friends together for a day of music, food, games and outdoor entertainment. Previous editions have featured activities such as sack races, cooking competitions, dancing contests, treasure hunts and other games for children and adults. Live music, performances by Ghanaian artistes and the popular highlife and Jama sessions have also been part of the experience. The celebrations will continue into the New Year with the return of 90s Jam to the Pleasant Gardens. The event will take music lovers on a nostalgic journey through the sounds, fashion and culture of the 1990s. The 90s Jam has, over the years, established itself as one of Joy FM’s signature entertainment events, bringing together music lovers to celebrate classic Ghanaian highlife, early hiplife, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, dancehall and other hits from the decade. The event has attracted patrons dressed in retro outfits, with DJs playing popular songs from Ghana and beyond. The January 2026 edition at Pleasant Gardens featured an all-night selection of classic music and drew large crowds of nostalgia enthusiasts.
