Mncube back on the stand for cross-examination in Meyiwa trial

Accused number three in the former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Mthobisi Mncube, is expected to continue his testimony when the case resumes in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday morning. On Friday, Mncube firmly rejected knowing accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi. State Prosecutor Ronnie Sibanda questioned him about his cellphone records and shared contacts, which the state says link Mncube to Ntanzi. However, Mncube maintains that he does not know him. He says the absence of Ntanzi’s number from his call records supports his version. Mcube says, “This does not mean that when Ntanzi calls Lungisani (Ndwandwe), this does not mean I know him since Ntanzi has his own phone and I have my own phone. If I wanted him, I would have called him on his phone, but because I don’t know him, that’s why in all my 205, Ntanzi’s number is not appearing and that is why accused one number also Sibiya is not there because I don’t know him.
