Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has directed the formation of a working group comprising the relevant ministries and authorities to examine submitted proposals and offers and prepare a comprehensive vision for developing the New Capital Airport and its surrounding area. The group will also assess available investment alternatives to ensure optimal use of the area’s potential and assets and maximize its economic and development returns. The directive came during a meeting held by Madbouly on Monday to review several proposals for developing the New Capital International Airport and the surrounding area. The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh al-Hefny, Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) Chairman Khaled Abbas, Assistant Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Saeed Arafa, and a number of officials. Official spokesperson for the Cabinet Mohamed Adel said the meeting reviewed proposals to establish an integrated investment and logistics zone adjacent to the New Capital International Airport, designed to serve as a logistics hub hosting a range of economic, logistical and industrial activities. He noted that several international investors had expressed interest in investing in the area, alongside proposals from investors to expand and develop the airport. The proposed plans aim to attract further foreign direct investment and maximize the use of state-owned assets by creating an investment-friendly environment and providing the necessary incentives and facilitation measures for investors. These efforts are intended to support the establishment of diverse projects that advance development in the New Capital, strengthen its position as an attractive destination for investment and economic activity, create additional job opportunities and promote economic growth.
